Choosing Your Custom Finish

Factory matte and satin colors are typically $5,000-15,000 options — when they're even available. BMW's Frozen line, Mercedes Designo Magno, Porsche's satin metallics... these are rare, expensive, and notoriously difficult to maintain. One wrong car wash and you've got permanent shiny spots.

Vinyl wrap gives you the same look on any vehicle, at a fraction of the cost, with the added benefit of reversibility. If you damage a section, we replace that section instead of repainting the whole car. And when you sell, your original paint is pristine underneath.

Satin: Sophisticated & Practical

Satin finishes have a soft sheen — not the mirror reflection of gloss, but not completely flat either. Light diffuses across the surface, creating a silky, sophisticated appearance that really highlights body lines and curves. Think "new car in showroom lighting" rather than "aggressive stealth."

Satin is easier to maintain than matte. Fingerprints and dust don't show as prominently, and cleaning is more forgiving. Popular options include Satin Black, Satin White, Satin Dark Gray, and Satin Pearl.

Matte: Aggressive & Head-Turning

Matte is completely flat — zero reflection, maximum visual impact. It's the stealthiest, most aggressive aesthetic available. A matte black Charger or matte military green Wrangler commands attention in ways gloss never can.

The tradeoff is maintenance. Matte shows fingerprints, water spots, and requires careful cleaning technique. We strongly recommend ceramic coating for matte wraps — it adds hydrophobic properties so dirt and water slide off without scrubbing.

Satin & Matte FAQs

Satin vs matte wrap — what's the difference?

Satin has a soft sheen — it's not reflective like gloss but not completely flat like matte. Light diffuses across the surface, highlighting body lines with a silky appearance. Matte is completely flat with zero reflection, creating an aggressive, stealthy look. Satin is easier to maintain; matte requires more careful cleaning to avoid shiny spots.

How do you maintain a satin or matte wrap?

Hand wash only — automatic car washes with brushes can leave marks. Use matte-specific soap (no wax or gloss enhancers). Rinse debris quickly since dried-on grime requires more scrubbing which can create shine. We strongly recommend ceramic coating for satin/matte wraps — it makes cleaning much easier and protects against staining.

What is the cost of a matte black wrap?

Full matte/satin color change runs $4,000-6,500 depending on vehicle size. Compact cars run $4,000-4,800. Sedans run $4,500-5,500. SUVs and trucks run $5,500-6,500. Specialty finishes or exotic vehicles may run higher. We provide exact quotes after inspecting your specific vehicle.
